The Annual Photo Contest is open to members of the Deep River Horticultural Society only

Deadline for submission of photos is October 1, 2024

Age Categories
1. Youth under 18

2. Adults 18 and older

Judging Points Scale: Horticultural Value 40%, Photographic Value 40% and Appearance and Impact 20%
Classes
1. “Orange You Glad” : photo of orange-coloured flower(s)
2. “It’s In The Details” : photo of an interesting part of a flower/plant
3. “Spice It Up!” : photo of an herb plant
4. “Forest View” : photo of tree(s) in a forest
5. “Let It Rain” : photo of rain droplets on a plant/flower
6. “Have Fun With The Sun” : highlight sunlight in a photo (eg. let sun shine through petals/plant parts)

Rules
1. Photos must have been taken in Ontario and/or Quebec.
2. Only one entry per exhibitor per class.
3. The same image may be entered only once.
4. Photos may be adjusted for lighting and colour balance, but should not be enhanced by adding or
eliminating photo elements.
5. Entries will be accepted in digital format, via CD/DVD, memory stick or as an attachment in an email
to deepriverhortsoc@gmail.com – Subject line: “Photo Contest”. Please provide entries in .jpg
format with as high a resolution as possible.
6. Or mail to: Deep River Horticultural Society, PO Box 493, Deep River, Ontario K0J 1P0
Entries will be accepted in 4” x 6” format on photo paper.
(If you wish to have your media returned to you, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.)
7. Please include your age category, class name, and class number on a separate piece of paper or in an
email for each photo or digital submission.

First, second and third place winners in each class and age category, as well as overall winners will be
announced at the Annual General Meeting in the fall.
